All my life, ordering (American) Chinese food has meant getting the same exact dish every time for a number of years, then switching and doing the same thing. Currently I like Kung Pao Tofu, but in the past there was meat involved.
What's your favorite Chinese dish (whether the Americanized stuff most of us know or the real thing) and how are you about trying new things?
Also, "dickface barista knight" is probably my favorite thing anyone's ever called Hayden.
Click above! Also, don't forget to help fund The Memory Eater Anthology! If it gets funded, I'll draw you guys a brand new 24-page comic about a character of your choice.
Fried rice and potstickers. I can eat nothing but that for centuries.
Also dickface barista knight oh GODS
I think that's what they used to call me when I was a shift lead at Starbucks. To my face! The nerve...
I usually have one specific dish at any given restaurant. Right now it is the Mongolian Beef at this Chinese/Vietnamese place we go to. Spicy and tasty.
Chow mein for me, which really *is* an American invention!
I love the way you worked in vegetarianism at the bottom of this page without getting heavy-handed about it. I also love the way you've captured Neve in the last panel - so beautiful!
Neve, Neve, liking tofu and liking chickpeas are not mutually exclusive.
I, too, tend to find a few dishes I like and stick with them. I generally avoid restaurants these days because the idea of eating something prepared by a stranger without getting to see a complete ingredients list makes me paranoid, but theoretically, my Chinese dish of choice would be Mao Pao Tofu or something similar.
Pot stickers without soy sauce are amazing. Soy sauce just makes it too salty. You also can't go wrong with a plain bowl of white rice. I'm sorta of minimalistic/unadventurous when it comes to food.
Dickface barista knight IS the greatest thing I've ever seen. Just... YES
I looooove potstickers... and garlicy gingery stir fried broccoli.
Three favorite things right now =)
Authentic handmade Shanghai noodles and handmade veggie dumplings and Hainanese Chicken Rice!
As for drinks i'm so stuck on Black Lemon Tea, it's the best iced xD
