@Shamus: Eryl keeps a LOT of really dangerous things in her living space! Usually in locked cabinets or under the bed, haha. Anyway, she made it herself! It's actually not the potion itself that's so harmful but the chemical reaction it causes when it hits iron. The vaporized iron is what would kill her, technically, not the potion itself.
As for why she would make such a thing...the pursuit of science and maybe the off-chance she could get a human to do exactly what Orson's doing now, haha.
